Savannah & Ben/Wildflower field engagement session

I’m smitten, I have always been a sucker for the wildflower fields! However, Living in Florida they are virtually non existent so I don’t get to shoot in them often. Nevertheless, once a year way out in the middle of small town Florida God gives us a few weeks of the most extravagant beauty in the Myakka River State Park. Savannah & Ben have been engaged for a while but they waited for the wildflower bloom to do their session. Then, guess what? That whole Covid quarantine social distancing thing closed down the park. Then it opened just before they died out. But yikes, they closed the gates early every day. this meant we had to endure the bright sun and the heat of shooting earlier in the day. I’ll let you in on a little secret…this is not a seasoned photographers favorite way to shoot. Let’s just say it makes our lives a bit more difficult when we have to shoot our clients in these conditions. Even though it was a cloudless hot day in a bright yellow field we made the very best of it. Savannah and Ben could have cared less they only had eyes for each other. The skies were blue, the flowers were bountiful. Savannah wore the perfect dress and hat for the occasion. Her wonderful sister even came to help so their adorable pup could join in the fun. I’d say it was well worth the sun and the wait!
